What is Crossfire?
Crossfire is the embodiment of the effects of gun violence through mass shootings, police brutality and poaching. Its most prominent features are its gun barrel horns which are inspired by the two most commonly used weapons in mass shootings: an AR-15 and a Glock 19. Its top canine teeth are spent bullet casings from WWII and it is dressed in an outfit akin to an exotic game hunter and a military officer.
It covers itself in a cloak of the dead animals who lost their lives from poaching and the blood its face and clothes are stained with represents all the blood spilled due to gun violence.
It is made to be not the personification of gun violence, it's a creature that embodies the aftermath of gun violence. Crossfire is not the thing one should fear; though it is an alarming sight and a creature who is mangled with shrapnel wounds and impaled with gun barrels, it is more of a warning to heed. It is the collector of what is left after a carnage and its spoils are not fruitful in the slightest. Crossfire is a hyena so scavenging is in its nature but the guns, bullets and everything else it consumes mangles its form more and more.
Crossfire is a fursuit that is primarily worn by its maker and owned by its maker as well. The goal of this fursuit is to not only be creepy and frightening but to be a conversation on gun violence. Fursuits are an art form in and of itself but the mission with Crossfire to use this art form to communicate something more than itself and to have a conversation about something bigger than its craft and construction.
Crossfire is a creation of The Pyrate Cove on a Crystumes Costumes hyena blank.
